Two prints

So, I tried another lithograph today. I am quite pleased with it, although I'm finding it difficult thinking in terms of line instead of colour. But I think that this is a good thing.

I've also been working on another woodcut.
I'm going to have to do some serious sweeping later.

A drawing and a mishap

I'm having a bit of a lithograph disaster. But on the plus side I did a drawing that I like.
I will persevere.

Another factory

I went for a cycle with Greta today. I took some photos of another fantastic factory. I'll definitely be using some of these to make work from very soon.
Oh, me and Ellie didn't manage a print in the end, there was just too much sunshine.

My first lithograph

I did my first lithograph today. It is actually waterless lithography which is an interesting process. As Mr Bruno Patyn (who taught me the technique) writes on the Boiling Point Press website: 'Waterless lithography is a quick and dirty approach to the classic, high-brow printmaking technique, but is nonetheless as versatile, exquisite and challenging as the original version.'
Well as you can see it was definitely challenging! I'd say it is more splodgy than exquisite at this point, but it was a really fun and very different process to the kind of printmaking I'm used to doing.
Here's a link if anyone wants to know how to do it http://www.boilingpointpress.org/waterless-lithography-introduction

A collage and a print

I did a quick collage today. I like in its unfinishedness (is that a word?).

And I also finished my print... It's a woodcut, I like doing woodcuts. I'm not sure whether I prefer the original drawing or not though...

Print in progress

This is what I'm doing at the moment... It should be finished in the next couple of days.

Also, I've been spending some time in the sunshine with Greta.

Tiny post

A drawing I finished.

I learnt how to do lithograph the other day. It might be interesting to combine lithograph and woodcut so I can add detail like the windows in this drawing. In fact, I might try this image as a print. We'll see...

Drawing and a tree

Today I've been working on a drawing. And looking at the wonderful tree outside my window.
Here's what it looked like a month ago and what is looks like now. Isn't it lovely? (And it also means that the neighbours across the courtyard can't see into my window...)

Here's my drawing in progress. And also, for those of you who don't yet know, I am staying for an extra 2 months, till the end of July! Woopwoop.

It's been a while

Well, it's been a while since i posted... I got distracted earlier in the week by bank holidays and disused airports. But today I finished a print. Although I must say I prefer my previous one.

Earlier this week. (Fun in the sun.)
